There are 30,000 fire departments in the U.S. Of the nearly 500 fire departments and stations in Florida, only 22 have earned accreditation. The coveted achievement is the gold standard among fire departments around the world. Mathe City of Clermont Fire Department became Lake County’s first department to earn the Commission on Fire Accreditation International’s Accreditation from the Center for Public Safety Excellence. Clermont Fire Department Earns International Accreditation The ISO Class 1 (on a scale of 1 to 10) provides the lowest insurance premiums possible for hazard insurance policies and only 186 (0.6%) of the 29,705 public fire departments in the U.S. Under 1% of the nation’s public departments hold this distinction. This nationally recognized standard is based on extensive criteria that evaluates a department's ability to protect people and property.
The City of Clermont Fire Department received Class 1 Public Protection Classification (PPC) rating from the Insurance Services Office (ISO) in July 2020. The Fleet Includesģ ALS Engine Companies, 79' Ladder Truck (ALS), 100' Tower-Ladder Truck (ALS), 1 Heavy Rescue (Haz-Mat and Technical Rescue, ALS), 1 Quick Attack/Brush Apparatus, 1 ALS Battalion Commander Vehicle, 7 Staff Vehicles, 2 Reserve Engines, 1 Reserve ladder, Fire boat, Zodiac boat, medical cart and ATV support vehicle (John Deere "Gator"). We also have an active Fire Explorer program for the youth of the community as well. Our department has an active honor guard. Our Special Operations Team has been designated by the state as an Urban Search and Rescue (U.S.A.R.) Type IV Technical Rescue Team. Services Providedįire Suppression, Rescue, Fire Prevention (including Inspections and Public Fire Education), (ALS) Advanced Life Support Emergency Medical Services, Vehicle and Machinery Rescue (Extrication), Hazardous Material Incident Response, Confined Space Rescue, Technical Rope Rescue, Trench and Excavation Rescue, Structural Building Collapse Response, Water Rescue, and Search & Rescue Operations.
